If it works with basic but not with gnome and you do have gnome-keyring installed on the host then something might be wrong with the host. There's also kwallet but it's not worth even mentioning considering is doesn't support the Secret Service API nor the Secret Portal. Just create a $HOME/.var/app//config/nf with -password-store=gnome if you have gnome-keyring installed on the host or -password-store=basic if you don't. You can force Chrome to use a specific password store and that should probably fix this. One username and password is all you need to unlock more features from services you use every day. Without looking in the code and without the logs I would guess that Chrome is trying to use one password store (maybe Gnome, considering the availability of gnome-keyring in the runtime) and fails.
